Meridian 1.60.0
August 17, 2026
Meridian opens faster, and its counts and badges keep up with you.
Changed
- A faster start — every time Meridian opened it tidied away messages your providers had deleted, working through them one at a time. On a Mac with a backlog that tidying alone could hold the app up for several seconds. It now happens in a single pass, so Meridian is ready to use much sooner.
- Counts and badges keep up — the unread and Outbox counts in the sidebar were worked out by loading every queued item, whole message bodies included, just to count them. They are now counted where they live, so they appear immediately and refresh without the app doing avoidable work in the background.
- Retrying stuck items is quick — if messages had piled up waiting to send, retrying them updated each one individually. That is now a single step, so clearing a large backlog is close to instant rather than a visible pause.
Added
- Outlook meeting invitations link to their event — an invitation arriving in a connected Outlook account is now matched to the meeting on your calendar, so the message and the event are one thing rather than two. This already worked for invitations arriving in Gmail. It applies to invitations sent with a standard calendar attachment, which is what you receive when someone invites you from a different provider.
