Connecting Accounts
Link your email, calendar, and contacts providers to Meridian
Meridian syncs with the services you already use. You can connect multiple accounts – even multiple accounts from the same provider.
Supported Providers
| Provider | Calendar | Contacts | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Google (Gmail, Google Calendar) | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Microsoft 365 (Outlook Mail, Calendar, Contacts) | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Apple iCloud (via CalDAV / CardDAV) | – | Yes | Yes |
| Fastmail | Yes | Yes | Yes |
How to Connect an Account
- Open Settings > Connections.
- Click Add Connection.
- Choose your provider.
- Complete the authorization flow (see provider-specific details below).
Google and Microsoft 365
Google and Microsoft use OAuth for authorization. After selecting the provider you’ll be redirected to their sign-in page in your browser. Sign in, review the requested permissions, and click Allow or Accept. Meridian will only request the permissions it needs to sync your mail, calendar, and contacts.
Apple iCloud
Apple iCloud connections use CalDAV and CardDAV, which require an app-specific password:
- Go to appleid.apple.com and sign in.
- Navigate to Sign-In and Security > App-Specific Passwords.
- Generate a new password and give it a label such as “Meridian”.
- Copy the generated password and paste it into Meridian when prompted.
Fastmail
Fastmail connections also use app-specific passwords:
- Sign in to Fastmail and go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Integrations & App Passwords.
- Create a new app password with access to mail, calendars, and contacts.
- Copy the password and enter it in Meridian.
After Connecting
Once a connection is authorized, Meridian automatically discovers available channels (email, calendar, contacts). You can enable or disable individual channels at any time from Settings > Connections.
The initial sync begins immediately. Depending on the size of your account it may take a few minutes to complete. You can start using the app right away – new data will appear as it syncs.
