How to Connect an Account
- Open Meridian and go to Connections in the sidebar
- Click Add Connection
- Choose your provider
- Sign in and authorize Meridian in the browser window that opens
- Meridian will discover all available channels (inboxes, calendars, etc.)
- Enable the channels you want to sync
- The initial sync will begin automatically
Managing Channels
Each connection can have multiple channels — for example, your Google account might have Gmail plus several Google Calendars.
- Enable or disable individual channels at any time
- Rename channels for easier identification
- Changes take effect immediately
Multiple Accounts
You can connect as many accounts as you need. Have a personal Gmail and a work Microsoft account? Connect both. All your email and calendar data will appear together in Meridian.
Disconnecting an Account
- Go to Connections in the sidebar
- Open the connection’s Manage menu
- Click Disconnect and confirm
Disconnecting stops future sync and removes Meridian’s stored credentials. The connection, its channels, and everything already synced remain available as a point-in-time snapshot, and your data in the external provider is never modified or deleted. Reconnect later to resume syncing.
To erase the connection and everything Meridian imported through it, choose Destroy connection instead. Destroy is permanent and does not delete data from the external provider itself.
Troubleshooting
“Connection needs to be reconnected”
This means your authorization token has expired or been revoked. Click the connection and re-authorize it. This can happen if you changed your password or revoked access from your Google or Microsoft security settings.
Sync seems stuck
Meridian syncs automatically on a schedule and responds to supported provider notifications. If data seems stale, trigger a manual sync from the connection. If the problem persists, use Reconnect. Disconnect intentionally freezes the account and should not be used as a sync-repair shortcut.
Missing calendars or inboxes
After connecting, go to the connection’s channel list and make sure the channels you want are enabled. Some calendars (like shared calendars or holiday calendars) may not be enabled by default.
